Victoria BC - The City of Gardens
Victoria, the scenic capital city of British Columbia, Canada, is known as "the city of gardens" for its abundance of flora and natural beauty. The city is located on the southern coast of Vancouver Island and has a temperate climate with plenty of sunshine, which allows the city’s gardens to thrive.
Locals bask in the beauty of the perpetual bloom and take great pride in the number of flowers that start blooming here in the winter, when the rest of country (and much of the province) is still buried under layers of ice and snow. By February, Victorians are seeing daffodils, crocuses, and most famously the lovely cherry blossom trees line the streets with pink. The city very literally comes alive with colour!

Butchart Gardens is located in Brentwood Bay, just north of Victoria, and it is an expansive 50 acres of plants, flowers, and trees, with paths lacing the beautiful grounds. Open year-round, the Gardens provide a different visual splendour in each season. In addition to the amazing flora, the summer months also have nightly entertainment and firework displays once a week. In the winter, holiday lights and decorations bedeck the grounds, and an outdoor skating rink is erected.
