Victoria Celebrates Canada Day 2011
This weekend, Victoria will be celebrating Canada’s 144th birthday with 3 days of family-friendly events, musical performances and fireworks. You can sample cuisine from Hungary, Mexico, India and other locations at the international food village, help out with a 20-foot mural celebrating Canadian identity or be part of a record-setting living flag. Local entertainers will transform the the Legislature Lawns into a main-stage, showcasing the talents of Fred Penner, the Afro Mumanzi Marimba Band, folk artist Steph Macpherson and more, plus Axé Capoeira, tango and salsa troupes.
All events will take place in the Inner Harbour from July 1–3, with the spectacular fireworks show starting at 10:20 pm on Friday night. Over 50,000 people are expected, so arrive early!
