769 Yates St. (250) 383-3111 Open 7 days a week
Foo sells itself as Asian Street Food, but don’t let the take-out boxes fool you. Located at the corner of Blanshard and Yates, this tiny eatery serves up delicious Asian fare with a contemporary twist. Whether you stay inside to watch the chef work his magic or take it to go, it won’t be long before your next visit. Be sure to try the Vietnamese Caramel Chicken with fresh ginger and baby bok choy, the slow roasted butter chicken in a creamy Indian-spiced tomato sauce or the fried paneer cheese, almond and sultana dumplings.

Seating at Pagliacci’s is first-come, first-serve, but it’s well worth the wait. Inside, you’ll find a funky, lively Italian eatery that’s always been a favourite among locals. Pagliacci’s has amazing soups, salads and focaccia bread, and the best cheesecake you’ll ever have. The best thing about Pag’s (aside from the food) is that it’s open late, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy their live bands (Sundays after 8:15 pm).
